We collect and process your Personal Information (PI) mainly to provide you with access to the services and products of the providers with whom we have contractual agreements in place and to help us improve our services to you. The type of information we collect will depend on the need for which it is collected and will be processed for that specific purpose only.Where possible, we will inform you what information you are required to provide to us and what information is optional.
To offer and conclude any insurance-related transactions, it is mandatory for you to supply us with certain basic information. This basic information is required in terms of the legislation applicable to the financial product requested and our FSP licence obligations.Examples of Personal Information we may collect include (but are not limited to) your name, contact details, identification information, financial details, and any other information necessary to conduct a needs analysis, render appropriate advice, generate quotes or proposals, or commence or conclude a requested transaction.
With your consent, we may also supplement the information that you provide to us with information we receive from other providers to offer you a more consistent and personalised experience in your interactions with us. When you elect to take up offerings from our contracted providers, they may also require additional information from you, and they will be subject to the same privacy regulations as we are subject to.
We collect information about you primarily through direct interactions, such as when you:

The nature of the contractual relationship between attooh! Pty and you may result in further processing of your PI. This further processing will be compatible with the purpose for which it was collected.The consequences of failure to provide mandatory information will result in us being unable to conduct a needs analysis, render appropriate advice, generate quotes, proposals or to commence or conclude the requested transaction.
The Client and / or Competent person as a data subject or on behalf of the data subject, herewith consents to the processing of personal information of the data subject for the purposes of direct marketing, by means of any form of electronic communication, including (but not limited to) automatic calling machines, facsimile machines, SMS’s, What’s App or emails. You have the right to object to the processing of your Personal Information for the purpose of direct marketing by electronic communication at any time. If you wish to withdraw your consent or object to direct marketing, please contact our Information Officer using the details provided above.
We may disclose your PI to our contracted providers whose services or products you elect to use. We have agreements in place to ensure that they comply with our privacy terms and conditions and applicable privacy regulations.
We may also share your personal information with and obtain information about you from:
Third parties for the purposes listed above (e.g., credit bureaus, risk assessment agencies).
Other companies in the industry when we believe it will enhance the services and products we can offer to you, but only where you have not objected to such sharing.
Other third parties from whom you have chosen to receive marketing information.
We may also disclose your information where we have a duty or a right to disclose in terms of applicable legislation, the law or where it may be necessary to protect our rights (e.g., court orders, regulatory requests).
We may transfer your Personal Information to recipients in other countries. This may occur if our service providers or the product providers you select are located outside of South Africa or use infrastructure located outside of South Africa. When we transfer your Personal Information outside of South Africa, we will ensure that such transfers are only made to countries that have adequate data protection laws, or where the recipient is subject to a law, binding corporate rules, or binding agreement that provides an adequate level of protection comparable to POPIA.
We will impose appropriate security, privacy, and confidentiality obligations on them to ensure that PI that we remain responsible for is kept secure and treated with the same level of protection and privacy regulations as we are subject to.
We retain your Personal Information for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, or as required by applicable laws and regulations governing financial services providers. This includes retaining information for audit and record-keeping purposes.
We are required to adequately protect PI and to avoid unauthorised access and usage. We will continuously review our security controls and processes to ensure that your PI is secure.

Under POPIA, you have certain rights regarding your Personal Information:
Right to Access: You have the right to request confirmation from us as to whether or not we hold Personal Information about you, and if we do, to request a copy of that information. Any such access request may be subject to a payment of a legally allowable fee.
Right to Correction or Deletion: You have the right to ask us to update, rectify, or delete your PI that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date, incomplete, misleading, or obtained unlawfully.
Right to Object to Processing: You have the right to object, on reasonable grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of your Personal Information unless legislation provides for such processing. You also have an absolute right to object to the processing of your Personal Information for the purposes of direct marketing (as detailed in Section 7).
