PROPER NOUN DEFINITION: A proper noun is a noun that identifies a single entity and is used to refer to that entity, such as London, Jupiter, Sarah, or Microsoft, as distinguished from a common noun, which is a noun that refers to a class of entities (normal things).

When we were young and at school our English teachers used to teach us that a proper noun is a word used to NAME something. It’s branded. It’s important. It’s a stand-alone concept. You capitalise this word, to give it meaning as a proper noun and not just another common thing.

Well – here is our take on finance. PEOPLE MAKE FINANCE JUST A NOUN. People forget to capitalise finance in their lives.

At attooh! we’re changing this. We are CAPITALISING important words in our writing. This (seemingly odd) capitalisation strategy is in actual fact a representation of our brand essence and promise.

There IS a difference between financial advice and Financial Advice in our opinion. We make “ordinary terms” PROPER NOUNS to highlight their importance in our lives. Financial Advice should be a proper noun, a pillar and a practise. Our Advisors! are not just financial experts, but super-humans that take your life and the responsibility of breeding game-changers onto their shoulders.

Our name attooh! is spelled like this with intention. A normal word, that is used with an exclamation. That’s finance, we think it’s mundane and ordinary but it SHOULD BE CELEBRATORY.

Next time you read our copy, be aware of what we capitalise. Realise that YOU should start thinking of Financial Advice, your Advisor! and the opportunity for you to become The Ordinary Millionaire, with some MORE IMPORTANCE AND EMPHASIS. Choose your proper nouns in life. Get your priorities straight.

Check out our word-library – we give importance to these concepts by capitalising them:

Financial Advice: It’s a proper noun because it should be a person in your life, a steadfast pillar of education and empowerment.

Advisor! Super-humans, proper-noun people in your life that keeps your goals in mind and breeds millionaire mindsets.

Ordinary Millionaire: That’s you! You can be the Ordinary Millionaire – spelled with capital letter because that becomes your stamp – someone that committed to financial freedom, success and worked extremely hard to live a life of purpose.

Employee Benefits Advisor: These humans are GAME-CHANGERS to the max. Educating, supporting and changing lives of employees are what motivates our workforce of South Africa and the world to be financially savvy and strong. We applaud these Advisors! for their role in the lives of many. Use these superheroes to empower your team.

Butterfly: This metaphor – used as one of our brand elements alludes to your personal and professional growth and journey. Be conscious of your LIFE CYCLE, your phases and your decisions. Bring confidence, importance and capitalisation back when assessing your stages.
